Prior to working as the Programme Manager for the East Midlands Adult Safeguarding Board, Robert was the Dept. of Health’s East Midlands program lead for the MCA/DoLS, and offender health programmes. After graduating in 1976 he commenced a career in social work taking in a variety of settings including care homes, prisons, emergency duty, forensic mental health services and a mental health law firm. Having now retired from formal roles in organisations Robert remains active as a registered independent social worker in championing the rights and dignity of people who require care services and to continue in the promotion of the positive value that social work provides. Recent escapades with health & social care services have felt more akin to Don Quixote's adventures! Such to require a retreat to the workshop to recoup!
