He/Him · Lancaster, PA

Philip Garland established Lexington Land Developers in 1981 in Lancaster, PA, propelling the company to the forefront of residential land development throughout the Keystone State. Under his leadership, the company has completed numerous projects, including a notable 122-unit multi-residential development and projects comprising 98, 45, and 46 units each. His educational journey at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, from which he graduated in 1981, laid the foundation for his career. He excelled in carpentry and was honored with the school's most prestigious award, a tradition since 1920 awarded annually to only one exceptional graduate. His commitment to excellence extended into athletics, where he led as team captain for the cross-country and indoor track teams. Over the years, Garland has remained a dedicated alumnus, contributing to the college through donations and service. He spent fourteen years on the Alumni Foundation and Association Boards, ten as treasurer, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to the institution that shaped his early career. In his personal life, he has been married since 2002 and is a father to two boys and a stepson, whom he has raised with a strong sense of responsibility and care. His passion for mentoring youth extends into his volunteer work, including eight years coaching youth lacrosse, during which he inspired his players with motivational initiatives and recognition for their achievements. His leadership qualities were further recognized in 2022 when he received the "Order of the Arrow" award from the Boy Scouts of America, acknowledging his service and dedication to the principles of Scouting. This honor coincided with the proud moment of his son achieving the Eagle Scout Award in May 2024, an accomplishment Garland supported and celebrated extensively. Garland’s compassion is not limited to his immediate family; he has been a steadfast support for his stepson, guiding him through alcohol challenges to achieve a year of sobriety by October 2024. Similarly, he helped his nephew redirect his life toward success, facilitating his education and entry into a stable career. Philip Garland continues to give back to his community, supporting various local charities, school fundraisers, and emergency services. His commitment to improving the lives of others is matched by his pursuit of health and excellence, which has kept him a top runner in his age group.
