I have to say I am a fan of Superhero movies and don't worry if it is Marvel or DC but I have to say that in my opinion this movie didn't live up to the hype. Is it a bad movie? No but it is not one of Marvels finest. I am sure that hardcore Marvel fans will love it but it could (and should) have been better. It was obvious that after the events of Infinity War, Endgame had to finish with a better outcome. Obviously, time travel would be needed somewhere and true to form it was. I don't have too much of an issue with this but whilst it led to some great interaction with previous Marvel movies and TV series it also left a lot of plot holes that in the end you have to ignore so that you can enjoy the movie however as I left the movie I couldn't help thinking of how it was a little screwed up. However, we must just go with it as after all it is entertainment. One of my issues was the flow of the movie. If I am honest the first half goes a little too slow and there are some scenes that maybe didn't need to be there. I know we wanted to see the outcome of the snap but seeing all our heroes depressed wasn't necessary. Thor especially took this badly, but his humour was one of the highpoints of the film for me. The trouble with having so many Superheroes is you never really get to see enough of everyone in the film. Lots are of course missing due to the Thanos snap in IW but during the middle part we get to see lots of them but only for a limited time. The lift scene with Captain America was pure gold and seeing Tony stark with his Dad was great as well. Anyway after various escapades and 5 years our heroes gather all the stones and reverse Thanos cruel snap but we don't have time to see what happens bar for a phone call and some birds flying around as evil Thanos from 2013 manages to appear with his huge space ship and army (despite the fact they have no time machine and only one small pym particle. and blow the Avengers HQ to smithereens! Luckily. Not one of our heroes is injured? And cue big fight time. Thor, Captain America and Iron Man do there best to fight with Thanos but can't beat him and just when it seems all is lost and the army of Thanos is about to lay waste to the Earth they handily wait till Doctor Strange and his friends bring back all our favourite lost heroes one at a time. Queue a huge CGI fest which will no doubt please action lovers everywhere. It is fun but really somethings are beyond reason. Captain America can now control Thor's hammer and Captain Marvel can come late to the party and destroy a huge spaceship in a matter of seconds but can't defeat Thanos. Luckily fate works that our heroes win and Thanos and his army are defeated but at a price. My worry going into this movie was that we would just get a snap, and everyone lives happily ever after and whilst we get the snap the film did give us a price to pay so can I complain no? I have to say the ending for Steve Rodgers was fantastic and well thought out (although still given the time travel issues it does leave big questions) and well deserved. Is it the best movie ever no, is it fun and does it leave us with an adequate ending to the saga yes. Given some very clever work as well to tap into previous movies I think we can give it 8/10. I would have liked more action and less despair and slowness during the first half, but you can't get everything you want. However, if we get Asgardians of the Galaxy in the near future then I will get what I want. come on Marvel that's what all the fans would love. Make our day. Avengers endgame final battle reaction.
